Located
at the Bosaita near to Al-Jouf and 150 kilometers from
Dormat Al-Jandal. The project is considered one of the
landmarks of the agricultural development in the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia in the past decade. The project has
various agricultural activities including; animal and
agricultural production in addition to food processing
plants. It starts on the year 1990 with total investment
of more than 180 million dollars. The project occupies
an area of 30,000 hectares, grown with cereal and fodder
crops including wheat, barley and alfalfa. Other
vegetables like tomato, potato and onions irrigated with
most advanced automatic irrigation system named SCADA
to conserve water using more than 250 center pivots.
Olives are also grown at the project using drip systems.
Tomatoes are grown in the project on an area of more
than 1000 hectares using an advanced transplant system
in addition to onion and potato grown under subsurface
drip irrigation to save water.
The project lies on an area of (20,000) hectares in Al-Busaita area near the city of Tabarjal at Al-Jouf province. The work started on the project in the year 1990, and it contains many production and supporting departments as well as services.
